Whale sharks are the largest fish in the sea, reaching lengths of 40 feet (12 meters) or more, and whale sharks have an enormous menu from which to choose. Fortunately for most sea-dwellers—and us!—their favorite meal is plankton. They scoop these tiny plants and animals up, along with any small fish that happen to be around, with their colossal gaping mouths while swimming close to the water’s surface.

The part where the guide most came in handy was swimming and catching up with the whale shark because we couldn’t keep up, (me and my 8 year old daughter) so we´d jump in the water, check out the shark and go back on the boat to swim with the shark again. It was quite an experience.
It was quite an experience, he picked us up at the hotel and we stopped to get some breakfast then to La Paz, when we got there we waited no more than a minute before the boat came, it has to be an authorised boat to do this type of trip. We got in and two hours later we saw a whale shark, Arturo let us know that he never had waited so much to find one, but that it was the end of the whale shark season. After we went to eat and to the whale museum that was very nice and then to a very nice beach which I forget the name but it´s magical. We got back at our hotel at 10pm – we slept pretty much the whole car ride:) What to consider: ask for a gopro shooting if you want pics, you might have to chase the whale shark if it is not smack in the middle of the season, bring a towel and eco friendly sun block.
