Snorkeling Chileno & Santa Maria
Santa Maria and Chileno Bay are two of the best swimming and snorkeling spots in Cabo San Lucas, they are located just 30 minutes boat ride.
The water is very Crystal and calm so for this reason it is possible to appreciate all the tropical fish and if you are lucky you might even see some turtles. The bay is surrounded by magical craggy cliffs which make it ideal for water activities such as snorkeling or paddle boarding.

We were treated with the HUMPBACK WHALE sightings. It was incredible.
If you go to Cabo, you MUST get in touch with Arturo. He is hands down the BEST tour guide you’ll find.
The long version:
My friends and I contacted Arturo via email a few days before our trip to Cabo and inquired about his availability for a snorkeling tour. He responded immediately with different options and dates for snorkeling and we arranged to meet early in the morning that weekend.
He picked us up from our hotel right on time and we knew from the start it was going to be a great day: he was friendly, funny, and super conversational. We drove into Cabo San Lucas and got set up with snorkeling gear and then headed out to Santa Maria / Chileno. The tour was a great balance between sightseeing around the arches, coastline, etc. and plenty of time to swim with fish. There were only seven total passengers on the boat — it felt like a private tour!
The fish at Chileno were plentiful and fearless (they swim right up to you in schools, it’s incredible). On the way to Santa Maria, we were treated with the HUMPBACK WHALE sightings. It was incredible. We saw them jumping out of the water and Arturo made sure we had plenty of time to follow them at a safe distance and take it all in.
On our way back to the marina, Arturo had the boat stop along the arches and we saw sea lions basking in the sun. It was amazing.
Afterwards, he gave us a great recommendation for a place to grab lunch. We had such a great time with him that day we booked an additional tour with him for the next day: a day hike about an hour outside of Cabo San Lucas.
The next day, Arturo took us on the most stunning hike I’ve ever been on in my life. Gorgeous views of the countryside and mountains, sweeping panoramas of plateaus and a winding river. He was an excellent guide along the way, pointing out landmarks and showing us the different plants. For dinner we ate homemade tortillas and delicious beef soup. I dream about those tortillas.
I could not have asked for a better experience in Cabo. For those hoping to get a little more out of Cabo than Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo, you absolutely must get in touch with Arturo. He is accessible, so friendly, and will ensure that you have an amazing experience.
